Yesterday was the first day of school!
I now have TWO middle schoolers -- ACK! Wade is in 7th grade (he says he is a "sevvie") and Paul is in 8th.
Look at all Kate's stuff. We are even two boxes short of tissues, so they will go with her to school on Monday when we make our weekly Costco run.
Here she is being cool in front of the school as a cool 3rd grader:
The unicorn hat is still on our head wherever we go. Period.
On the sample front, here is the Classic Ribbed Hat from my book:
And the Ribbed Scarf:
Both are worked in Berroco's Vintage Chunky in Cracked Pepper. We all know I am a Berroco groupie, but this is especially true with the whole Vintage line. It is by far the nicest washable wool I have worked with, comes in many different yarn weights, and is not at all sharp in your hands as some superwash wools.
The projects work up quickly as the scarf is 3 stitches per inch and the hat is 3.5 stitches per inch. The hat is worked in the round so there is no seaming. These are perfect gifts when you want no brainer knitting.
I worked the cover Starter Cable Scarf in Vintage Chunky as well in one of my favorite all time colors, Chana Del:
These samples are at Purl Yarn Boutique ready for squishing.
There are still spots availabe at Purl for my class this Saturday, August 25th, from 10-noon. We will be discussing the Three Piece Gift Set:
Classes are a steal at $15 at Purl. Call 652-4876 for any other info you need. I give a sheet of tips and tricks not found in the book for each class I teach. Knit on!
