Three fabulous words! Today I visited Purl Yarn Boutique in the same mini-mall as the new movie theater next to Kohl's on the west end of Billings. The owner Ren and her husband Chad are lovely, warm people and their store is just beautiful and beautifully packed with yarnie goodness. They have a huge selection of stellar brands including Berroco (we know I am a groupie), Blue Sky Alpacas (including Spud & Chloe Yarns), Rowan and many, many more.
To celebrate such a momentus occasion, these followed me home:
to knit Turia (Rav link) from Berroco's new spring booklet #307, Linsey:
Yes, we have talked about this beauty before. Berroco has changed the yarn requirements of this sweater, so check the Rav posting or Berroco for the update.
Here is the obligatory close-up to see the colors much better:
The main body is knit in the same as the picture, the very left yarn, #6556 Shell. Most of the yoke is the middle yarn, #6507 Tisbury and the accent color is #6552 Bluefish (to go with all my jeans), which are both different than the picture. This yarn is a perfect spring yarn at 64% cotton, 36% linen and the marled colors add zip. Purl Yarn Boutique even has a frequent buyer program -- for every $100 you spend, you receive a $10 credit. Whoo hoo!
For all of you Berroco lovers, they also have the new Ultra Alpaca Tonal which was a very close second in my purchase wish list. Click here for free patterns using this luscious yarn. Many more blog posts will feature this yarn, as it is one of my favorites of all time. The gradual color change adds just that bit of zing for us who need far too much entertainment in our knitting. (Did you notice how many colors are in my new yarn?)
I also picked up this slouch hat booklet from Leisure Arts:
This great booklet has 7 patterns for only $5 which includes baby, child and adult sizes. And it is my favorite 6" x 9" half page booklet size like most of my patterns to fit easily in your knitting bag.
Happy knitting at our new yarn store!
