Maybe more than just a couple of years ago, the Yarn Harlot worked a pair of most gorgeous socks in Duet Sock Yarn from A Swell Yarn Shop in a scrumptious colorway called Raspberry Fantasy. It combined berry and chocolate colors. I tried right away to find it, to no avail.
The Loopy Ewe carried A Sell Yarn Shop's sock yarns for a while, but I put it on my wish list never to be seen again. So, I went to eBay and started hunting. I received happy emails to notify me when duet sock yarn hit the streets of the yarn category and I ended up with these lovelies:
This second picture is near perfect for me. Greens and pinks in harmony. Love it so much I may have to make a scarf so I can see it more often then on my feet.
These yarns are DK weight, 100% superwash merino, and are squishy and beautiful. So much so, I have enjoyed them merely in the skein and dare not wind them until RIGHT before they are to be knitted. The sassy sidekick is enough for the heel and toe.
But still no Raspberry Fantasy.
Out of the blue as I perused eBay a couple of days ago, look what I found (!!!):
Peppermint Mocha from our friends at Lorna's Laces!! Did you even know such a colorway existed? I did not. So excited, I could hardly stand it and prayed my enthusiasm did not show in my bidding so I did not have to pay way to much for way too little yarn.
As fate would have it, no one cared enough about this (what is wrong with them?) which I felt bad for them, truly, but paid only $20.01 with shipping. What a deal.
Knit on.
