I just loved typing that. And I wish I could claim it, but, alas, it is not mine. It is the title of a smart, sassy little book by Hugh McLeod called Ignore Everyboy: And 39 Other Keys to Creativity. He draws the most clever cartoons on the back of business cards and this book chronicles his success. The book is an entertaining look at the crazy world of the creative.
Kate and I are soaking in the sun (with our hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, of course. I am so fair skinned I don't dare enjoy the sun any other way).
On the knitting front, I already love Shirley Paden's new book, Knitwear Design Workshop: The Comprehensive Guide to Handknits. I just bought it before I left and it is 400 glorious pages of in depth study on what appears to be absolutely everything to do with designing. How exciting is that? I hope it fills in all of the "holes" in my designing head. I could not bring it with me because of the size of the 400 glorious pages. My hubby said it looks like a college book and that is exactly what I hope it turns out to be.
Shirley Paden's web site is a beautiful one if you need some knitting eye candy today. One of the next "for me" sweaters is that copper colored one under "Portfolio" (at the bottom of her home page) and then "Sketches" featured in Vogue Knitting, Fall 2002.
I am cruising right along on my Leaf Yoke Top by Angela Hahn (her website looks great as well), but not as much as you would think. I finished the yoke and the short rows that shape the front and back right under the bind off row of the yoke. That was a fun little challenge and now I have the sleeve stitches on some waste yarn and I joined the front and back for some mind numbing stockinette (perfect for this mind, I tell you) before the waist shaping.
Knit on.
