Linda's yummy scarf (from the Wild Purls holiday open house) reminded me how much I love mill ends. Here are my Pagewood mill ends, waiting patiently for something brilliant:
Julia also sells Mountain Colors Bearfoot sock yarn mill ends, which also please my soul to no end. Here are my latest treasures recently purchased from Wild Purls:
Couldn't you just eat them? So I consume them with circulars instead.
The pattern is Ripple by Wendy Bernard of Knit and Tonic fame. I absolutely love this hat to the Nth degree. I think this is one of the best uses of this stitch pattern I have seen in Knitting Land. The fabric may be too perfectly slouchy with size 3 needles because I didn't have size 2s (but do not worry, I remedied that that problem at Wild Purls today). I feared it would be too big for my friend, so I would have to keep it. Turns out, she has as big as head as me (who knew?) so now I will be forced to knit another hat for me with the pastels (on the left in the wood bowl). I hope to crank out some mittens and a cute little scarf to match. Don't tell her.
My daughter is still on meds for an ear infection and the medicine, as she said this morning, is "the baddest thing I have ever tasted." I empathized with her but she kept going.
"You know what is the other baddest thing I ever tasted?"
"No, what?"
"Lobster."
Who's child is this?
Happy Thanksgiving, fellow knitters. Turkey and yarn. Perfect day, no? (besides lobster)
I have been attracted to that very hat pattern by the wonderful Wendy. You are right...great use of the mill ends and of the stitch pattern. Just now finished the homemade cranberry sauce and taking a "knitting break" til stuffing that bird in my refrig. The best to you and your family, Kim
