It is not often that a new Vogue Knitting gets trumped, but today it has! My brother and his wife had their baby girl this morning at 1:10 am and she made an impressive debut at 7 pounds, 15 ounces. You go girl! I can't wait to watch you grow up. And give my brother grief. However, be nice to your mama. Welcome you to the world! You are loved and we are all so grateful you made it safe and sound.
If baby girls had opinions on these issues, I know she would be impressed with the latest Vogue. I was thrilled with this issue:
So many designs this issue that weren't fashionista-ish and, consequently, fab!
For example:
This design to me had plenty of sass. I love the slimming center panel that runs vertically and the neck gives the extra bonus of "No, I am not wearing another blah t-shirt, I am going to look stunning ... as I go to Albertson's."
Another beauty:
Another vest I like! Are you surprised? This one covers your fanny so when you wear your favorite pair of linen pants this summer all is well.
Stripes give this wonderful, classic styled sweater instant interest. Plenty of color, yet coverage for the fickle spring days.
This one isn't a wrap at all! How fabulous is that? No fooling around while wearing wondering what will happen (!), yet still the slimming benefit of a bold diagonal.
Finally, the latest from Norah Gaughan in Berroco's cotton/linen blend Linsey:
The cables are knit on the wrong side and then folded over for the added interest. Love it!
I have been playing with hat shapes lately and here is Kate enjoying a beret I whipped up:
And here is the crown shaping as Kate and Wade are heading off to school (how nice of my brother to wait for me, thinks Kate):
The beret is in Patons SWS, color Natural Blue.
Have a great weekend everyone! We are finally seeing the sun in Billings -- whoo hoo! Hope it is sunny where you are. Happy knitting.
